Magic on the brink after embarrassing Game 3 loss
The Orlando Magic are on the verge of seeing its season end in embarrassing fashion.
Embarrassing is the only way to describe its performance in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
Orlando scored a pathetic 71 points on Saturday, getting blown out by the host Boston Celtics, 94-71. The Magic scored just 12 points in the first quarter to fall behind by 15, and the game didn’t get any closer from there. The Magic put on a similar performance in the third quarter, scoring 13 points.
For the game, Orlando shot under 37 percent, and the NBA’s best 3-point shooting team in the regular season went 8-f0r-30 beyond the arc. The team also committed 17 turnovers while forcing eight.
Dwight Howard continued his Jeckyl-and-Hyde ways this postseason, following up a 30-point effort in Game 2 with seven points and seven rebounds. Rashard Lewis has been far more consistent: consistently bad. He scored four points on the night.
